WBFA Eligibility

To compete, all contestants must be registered in good standing with the WBFA.The WBFA annual membership fee is $40. This is a separate cost from any contest entry fee and includes athletes insurance coverage for the year in which it was purchased.

Contest Eligibility

WBFA-sanctioned events are open to all contestants registered and in good standing with the WBFA. Championships are sanctioned as Regional, State, National, or International contest. Some contest may require a qualification or invitation to compete.

Please review individual entry forms before submitting or contact a WBFA official for more details. Masters and teen competitors will be required to submit proof of age. Collegiate competitors will be required to submit proof of college enrollment. Novice competitors may not have won a WBFA-sanctioned novice division overall title.

Proof of qualification will be required for contestants competing in Team USA events or International competitions.

How Many Divisions May I Enter?

Contestants may enter a maximum of two (2) divisions based on eligibility. Bodybuilding competitors may now enter both the novice and open divisions.

The top three class winners in an open, masters or teen division national qualifier are eligible to compete in the TEAM USA championships. The top 3 winners of the TEAM USA Championships will earn a spot on Team USA, they will represent the USA at the World Championships or the Mr./Ms. Universe Championships.

Music

Music: All music must be on CD ONLY. Each CD must be in a covered case labeled with the competitor’s name. Each competitor is responsible for picking up his/her music after the night show. You will pose only once if you are in more than one class. All competitors will be introduced at the night show. If there are large numbers of contestants in certain classes or divisions, WBFA officials have the right to choose the top five in that weight/height class to perform their routine.

Bodybuilding

Divisions include:

  • Men's Open and Novice Divisions (weight groups)
  • Women's Open Divisions (weight groups)
  • • Master's Men (60 & over) (50-59) (40-49)
  • Women's Masters (35 & over)
  • Men’s & Women’s Collegiate Division (Must currently be enrolled in College) (weight groups)
  • Teen Men (16-19 years)

Figure Divisions include:

  • Women's Open (Height Groups)
  • Women's Masters (35 & over) (Height Groups)
  • Women’s Collegiate Division (Must currently be enrolled in College) (Height Groups)
  • Jr. Figure (16-19 years old)

Rounds

  • Symmetry.
  • Poise and artistic presentation.
  • Elegance and appearance.

Bodybuilding

The following are the mandatory poses:

  • Front Double Bicep,
  • Front Lat Spread
  • Side Chest (either side),
  • Side Tricep (either side),
  • Back Double Bicep,
  • Back Lat Spread
  • Front Abs and Leg,
  • Most Muscular (men),
  • Favorite Pose (women).

Figure Competitions: Women’s Figure Championships

Open Competition (Women Only)

Clases:

  • Short Class—up to and including 5'4"
  • Tall Class—over 5'4"
  • Jr. Figure (16-19 years old)

Swimwear

  • • Two-piece swimsuit –Prejudging/Finals

Stage Poses

Each round will consist of quarter turns. There are five designated areas of the stage will pose to show poise, elegance and grace. No music or routines will be required, but you may bring your own music or your individual posing rounds. Props are allowed for all athletes at the night performances, but must be approved in advance.
